Hello. My name is Laura.

I have over 20 years of experience as a graphic designer in exhibit and communications design, with a focus on branded environments, information graphics, and wayfinding. I enjoy building visual vocabularies, which are playful, flexible, and holistic. My aim is to consistently provide attractive, viable solutions for all sizes of experiences.

Areas of Expertise

Experiential Graphic Design
Signage & Wayfinding Systems
Branding & Branded Environments
Art Direction

For the past 15 years, I have worked at ESI Design, where I led the EGD and print design team. I thrive in the multi-disciplinary structure, working with other designers to approach projects from many different angles, aiming to transform spaces and engage people in meaningful ways. As an Experiential Graphic Designer, I also play a critical role in branding environments and designing wayfinding systems for experiences.

I have a BFA in Graphic Design from Indiana University and an MFA in Design from the School of Visual Arts in New York City. Throughout my career, I have worked with a wide range of clients. At ESI Design, these have included The Statue of Liberty Ellis Island Foundation, Edward M. Kennedy Institute for the Senate, Beacon Capital Partners, eBay, and PNC Bank. Before joining ESI, I worked at several design firms in New York City and Germany on a range of projects from Kuwait University signage to corporate diversity programs to interpretive content at the Bronx Zoo. I am a member of the SEGD.

On a more personal note, I question the saying “Curiosity killed the cat.” and much prefer “Variety is the spice of life.” I enjoy solving puzzles, especially logic problems, and playing a wide variety of games. Someday, I hope to be able to yodel. For now, I’m learning piano. Most of all, I like to explore – whether that’s finding my way around an unfamiliar place, tinkering with a broken appliance, going on a nature hike, testing a new recipe, or discovering NYC by bike.
