Working closely with the creative director, I helped develop interpretive graphics and activities to encourage exploration and promote compassion for the animals of Madagascar. We developed a system in which kids could discover facts about animals on their own. At the same time, we equipped parents with information to answer their children’s questions as they learned. I was responsible for all interpretive and environmental graphics, from the informative railings to the carved door handles.

One task I particularly enjoyed was designing a mosaic wall at the entrance. It features a map of the world, filled with swirling ocean currents and verses about the uniqueness of Madagascar. Collaborating with a poet and a tile artisan, we turned a pencil sketch into a rich, tactile introduction to the exhibit.
